About Us
Philanthropy is the key for
creativity, especially for human development.
Their knowledge is wide, their minds are open. Their concern for public
service made them seek practical applications of philanthropy and
development science. Their common sense clarified the complex and exposed
the impracticable, their kindliness brought out the best in others, their
friendliness and fairness resolved conflicts. These qualities made them
friend and guide in cultivating the culture of human welfare. Their
thoughts in unfolding the image and dignity of humanity will live on and
be propagated.
Philanthropy work has been a very challenging task for all of us. In spite
of many barriers, progress is made but still far to go.
Creation of Philanthropy, Consolidation of Philanthropy and continuity of

Voluntary
action is an unparallel humanist initiative in development arena to
substantiate endeavours aiming at self-sufficiency of people and society.
Having a strong base on this philosophy, efforts are being initiated to
promote voluntary action through pragmatic action line suitable for
contemporary voluntary movement in India. We, at Advanced Centre for the
Study of Philanthropy and Development Affairs (ACPDA), believe in enormous
potentialities of voluntary organizations in the country dedicated for the
cause of the society. Based on this belief, we are in the process of
developing institutional arrangements for promoting the spirit of
cooperation and building up capacity among non-profit developmental
organizations in India. ACPDA is a Society registered in 1990 under West
Bengal Societies Registration Act 1961. While we are panning to expand our
activities in all the States of the country, we have so far restricted our
contact addresses in Delhi and Kolkata. |
