Insightful analysis for practical solutions
ACPDA (a non-profit society) was founded in 1990 in Kolkata, India upon the premise that the challenges facing both private and public management in implementing corporate social responsibility ( CSR) and its partners Non- governmental organizations ( NGOs) required a new quality of consulting and professional services to improve people’s lives. Taking stock of technical assistance best practices, corporate governance, business ethics and human rights in economic development, introducing apt and fitting private sector technologies and processes, constant review of achievements, as well as thorough quality management shaped the ACPDA .
Our ambition
ACPDA aims to become the Development Agency of first choice both for NGOs and corporate CSR divisions , specializing in economic development and livelihood, institution building and governance, fellowships, mentoring and leadership training with a reputation in terms of its quality-driven, client-focused, results-oriented and locally tailored solutions, upholding a track record in project management that needs no introduction.
Sustainable solutions
Projects have, by nature, predefined budgets and time limits imposed on them. It is therefore known from the outset that any support provided through technical assistance or any other expertise on the project is going to come to an end at which point the client will either be expected to take over responsibility for the provisions made or continue maintenance of the outputs. It is essential then that any inputs throughout the development of the project are carefully planned with a view to their ongoing use once the project comes to an end and that a detailed exit strategy is devised as part of the inception phase. ACPDA team does not indulge the client by doing the job for them; rather it helps them to do the job for themselves.
Focus Technical AreasWe Are
Economics and Livelihood
Economic growth and livelihood initiative are the biggest contributor to poverty reduction. But it is the most vale ad examined through economic analysis that determines the extent to which it reduces poverty. Growth tied to an increase in productive employment opportunities, for example, is particularly pro-poor. The scores of development specialists in ACPDA team understand the dynamics that underpin inclusive, broad-based growth. Committed to designing and facilitating successful programs in technical areas such as agribusiness and enterprise development, value chain development, agriculture and food security, and financial services.

They are also in position to develop their own leadership style and capable of taking independent decision with higher responsibility. The program is being implemented jointly with leading institutes, business schools, corporate and reputed consulting firms.
Corporate Social Responsibility Activities- Achieving sustainable solutions
Implicit in the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility is the term “responsible business”. That is, the belief that companies should act responsibly, beyond what the legal framework provides, and as a consequence should integrate economic, social and environmental concerns in their business operations and daily interactions with a view to expanding the corporate strategy beyond profit margins, product development and the coordination of services to include aspects relating to employees, the local and global society and the environment.
On a business level, ACPDA aims where possible to develop the capacity of corporate with a view to developing expertise locally, promoting greater participation and ownership, and ensuring sustainable solutions that can and will be supported beyond business and project operations. Forward-looking business leaders are asking “what should our business strategy be, in the light of sustainability?” Answering this question enables companies to find commercial opportunities that can help them be successful in the future. It is a far more powerful question than “what should our CSR strategy be?”
ACPDA is mindful in integrating corporate social responsibilities as a part of corporate business strategy, strengthening the capacity of the CSR team to plan, implement and monitor which have positive impact of its activities on and improvement of the quality of life of its employees and their families, as well as for the local community and society at large.
Leadership and Management Training for CSR Managers
The programs provide practical training in essential skills needed by today's organizations. Our core program focuses directly on the leadership and management skills needed at various levels and units. On request, we integrate our programs as customized components into those of other organizations.
In these programs, key themes emphasize knowledge transfer, self-diagnosis where appropriate, and skill development. These highly participatory, skills-oriented programs stress recognition of the central role of leadership and management in one's activities, including team participation, and development of enthusiasm for their practice.
The skills acquired help managers and leaders work more productively with others. They are critical to professional effectiveness. The programs emphasize planning and motivation for continuing to hone these capabilities throughout one's career.
