HOW WE CAME INTO BEING

In July 1989, a group of scientists and public service personnel met together and established ACPDA with a view to promoting cooperation in the field of philanthropy and development work undertaken by non-governmental organizations. In fact, this was an outcome of long years of experience the members of ACPDA had in working with national and international organizations. Members strongly felt that non-governmental organizations should take more specific and significant role in the development work. To enrich the working pattern of the Centre it was decided to adopt a pragmatic professional approach in promoting cooperation among non-profit organizations engaged in the field of social development and strengthening their management to wards self-sufficiency.

OUR VISION

ACPDA explores the study the behavioral pattern of philanthropy in developmental perspective and its contribution in ameliorating human sufferings. It endeavours to improve the quality of work, build up management resources and capacity towards cost effectiveness and financial self reliance of non-profit developmental organizations.
